AC Installation in Biloxi, MS

AC installations for residential and commercial buildings are the heart of what we do. Each is sized to the building it cools and run through a complete cycle before we sign off.

Central air is the split system most of us run, an outdoor condenser and an indoor "air handler" joined by a copper line set. A heat pump is the same thing with the ability to run in reverse, so it carries the heating too. A ductless mini split skips the ducts and cools a single room through a small line set in the wall. For a shop or an office it moves up to the roof, where a packaged rooftop unit or a light commercial split does it.

Whichever fits, the install is matched to the building's size and layout, not to what was there before. The exact price comes from the site survey, in writing, before anything begins.

What we do

Heating and Cooling Services

We handle both halves, the cooling side and the heating side, and each item below has its own page with what it covers and when to reach us.

  • Refrigerant gauges connected to the service valves of an outdoor condenser

    AC Repair

We begin with why the air runs warm, it cycles too often or water pools inside, then swap out the failed part. The diagnosis reads pressures, temperatures, amp draw and airflow rather than guessing.

    AC Repair
  • Two packaged rooftop units on a flat commercial roof with a tool case beside them

    HVAC Services

This covers installing, repairing and maintaining both sides, the heating and the cooling. For a shop or an office that means rooftop equipment; for a house, the condenser outside and the blower inside.

    HVAC Services
  • Gas furnace in a utility closet with the burner compartment open under a flashlight beam

    Furnace Repair

We restore a gas furnace that will not light, blows cold or shuts itself off again and again. The cold snaps here are short, so this is often the only stretch the heat gets asked to do anything all year.

    Furnace Repair
  • Clamp meter reading the amp draw at a condenser contactor

    HVAC Repair

A heating or cooling fault is diagnosed by its pressures, temperatures, amp draw and airflow. An honest diagnosis and a written quote come before anything begins.

    HVAC Repair
  • Condenser coil fins being rinsed with a garden hose, water sheeting off

    AC Service

We clean the coils, clear the drain line and go over everything before the long cooling season. A dirty outdoor coil will eventually damage the compressor, and a clogged drain puts water on the floor, so a spring once-over catches both early.

    AC Service
  • Electric heat strip assembly pulled out of an open air handler

    Heater Repair

This covers heat pumps, electric heat strips and gas furnaces that quit heating. On the coast the heat only gets a few weeks a year, so a heater that sat idle all summer is the usual reason we hear from you.

    Heater Repair
  • Old rusted gas furnace on a hand truck beside a new boxed furnace on a driveway

    Furnace Replacement

We pull the old furnace and set a fresh one sized to the house. It is matched to the ducts already in place rather than to the size of what is coming out.

    Furnace Replacement
  • Old corroded condenser standing beside a new condenser still on its pallet

    AC Replacement

An aging or failed air conditioner gets swapped for a correctly sized fresh one. It is the usual path for a badly damaged unit or one older than 10 years, when a patch buys little.

    Biloxi AC Replacement
  • Heat pump outdoor unit with a frosted coil on a cold morning

    Heat Pump Repair

We fix a heat pump that quits heating or cooling or leans on its backup heat. A coil frosted over on a cold morning, or "emergency heat" on most nights, means something has failed.

    Heat Pump Repair
  • Service van with its side door open at dusk and a technician walking toward a house

    Emergency AC Repair

This is for an air conditioner that quits in the heat. Going without in extreme heat is dangerous, not just uncomfortable, so it comes before anything else.

    Emergency AC Repair
  • Wall-mounted mini split indoor unit being checked with a level above a bedroom window

    Mini Split Installation

A ductless mini split cools a room with no ductwork, through a small line set run through the wall. It suits a sunroom, a garage apartment or an addition nothing else reaches.

    Mini Split Installation
  • New upright air handler in a utility closet with fresh copper line set and plenum

    Heat Pump Installation

A heat pump both heats and cools from a single outdoor condenser, which many people prefer. A straight changeout can often be set and humming in a single day.

    Heat Pumps Installed
  • New horizontal air handler in an attic with a sealed plenum and fresh flex duct runs

    HVAC Replacement

This puts in fresh indoor and outdoor pieces, updated controls and any duct changes that go with them. It is where sizing, airflow and ductwork get set right together.

    HVAC Replacement
  • Technician with a headlamp checking a furnace control board at night

    Emergency Furnace Repair

This is for when the heat goes out after dark and the house will not hold warmth till morning. The fault is usually an igniter, a flame sensor or a safety switch doing what it should, and we put the furnace back in action.

    Emergency Furnace Repair
  • Hands brushing mastic onto a flex duct collar at an attic plenum

    Duct Repair

We seal and rebuild leaking ducts that waste cooling and pull in dust and moisture. Unsealed runs weaken airflow and feed humidity into the attic, so it pays for itself each summer.

AC installation load calculation

Humidity is the point

Sized to the Home's Cooling Load

An air conditioner on this coast is sized to the home's real cooling load with a "Manual J" load calculation, because in humid weather the correct size is what leaves the house dry, not just cool.

Central air controls humidity well only when it is properly sized. An oversized unit "short cycles": it cools fast, shuts down before it has pulled enough moisture out, and leaves the rooms cool but clammy. Skip the load calculation and you get uneven temperatures, noisy vents and steep bills.

Good installers match the equipment to the actual cooling load, not to a generic square-footage rule. The load calculation follows ACCA Manual J, the trade's residential sizing reference, and the duct design follows its companion manuals.

How an AC Installation Job Runs

An AC install runs the same way each time, and the quote for all of it is in your hands before any of it begins.

  1. Consultation and site check

It begins at the building, looking at what you are after, your energy goals and how the structure is put together, then going over the electrical capacity, the ducts and the size it should be.

  2. Size, brand and efficiency

You get a hand picking the size, the brand and the "SEER rating", the efficiency rating, of what goes in. The size comes from the load calculation, not from the old unit's label.

  3. Written quote

An honest diagnosis and a written quote for the whole thing come before anything begins. Everything is up front, with no surprise charges after.

  4. The install

The indoor and outdoor pieces go in with any duct changes they bring, matched to the building's size and layout. We clean up when the work is done.

  5. Thermostat and test cycle

The thermostat is installed and calibrated, confirmed compatible with what it now controls, and the whole setup goes through a complete cycle to prove it cools properly before anyone leaves.

Before the New Unit Goes In

Before anything goes in, the home's electrical capacity, the condition of its ducts and the size it should be all get looked at, and the circuit capacity is the electrician's to confirm before a large unit is installed.

Which type fits depends on the home's layout, its electrical supply and the budget, so the choice is made there, not from a catalog.

How Long a New System Lasts

With professional AC installation and regular maintenance an air conditioner typically lasts 10 to 15 years. Correctly sized equipment noticeably improves comfort and lowers energy use, and putting it in correctly avoids needless repairs to the home and to the AC itself.

Quality installs come down to accurate sizing, airflow and energy-efficient cooling, and those are set at the outset.

Refrigerant Rules for Installers

Technicians who touch air conditioners are EPA certified to handle refrigerant, what most people think of as Freon. Anyone who handles refrigerant in stationary air conditioning holds technician certification under the Clean Air Act, and the rule is published by the U.S. EPA.
